Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust
At the 2011 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Perth, the leaders present agreed to establish the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust. Celebrating the Queen's remarkable 60-year contribution, the fund seeks to have an enduring impact on the lives of those living within the Commonwealth – with a focus on eradicating avoidable blindness and developing young leaders.
A national fundraising body, the Diamond Jubilee Trust Australia, was established, with Major General the Hon. Michael Jeffrey appointed its Executive Chairman. Details of the Trust's objectives are included in Major General Jeffery's letter to Australians.
