Overseas voting for federal elections
Voting facilities for federal elections may be made available through the Embassy and/or the consulates in Japan. For federal elections both pre-poll and postal voting facilities are usually made available.
The Embassy and consulates provide access to polling only. They are not in a position to comment on the eligibility of individual voters. Eligibility is a matter for the relevant electoral commission.

Up to date information on elections and eligibility, and copies of relevant forms (eg Application for a Postal Vote, Application to be Registered as an Overseas Elector) are available from individual electoral commission websites.
